Tributes have been paid following the death of Ellesmere Rangers Football Club stalwart John Brayne

A club spokesman said: “John was far more than a supporter of the club - he was part of its very fabric.

“Over many years, he gave his time, energy, and care selflessly, serving as a dedicated committee member and playing a major role in shaping the club into what it is today.

“His commitment never wavered, and his presence was felt by everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.

"Beyond his contributions to the club, John was a great friend to so many of us.

"He was always there with a kind word, steady advice, or a familiar smile, and his friendship meant the world to those who knew him."

Mr Brayne's funeral will take place on Wednesday, February 11 at 3pm at Pentrebychan Crematorium.

Following the service, all are welcome at Criftins Parish Hall from 4pm.

“We are immensely grateful for everything John gave to Ellesmere Rangers,” added the spokesman.

"His legacy will live on in the club he helped build and in the memories shared by all who knew him.”
