A Whixall man celebrated his 90th birthday with a helicopter ride.
Cyril Bishop marked his 90th birthday with a ride that landed him at his party venue.
Cyril, along with family and friends, gathered at the Piggery Café at Brookdale, Prees, on December 21.
The day held an extra touch of flair, as Cyril made an entrance that was, quite literally, out of the ordinary.
He was flown in a helicopter from Sleap Airfield, courtesy of David Grocott and piloted by Paul Latham, who expertly landed just outside the café doors.

Born on December 22, 1935, Cyril has spent his entire life in Whixall, working as a bricklayer and general builder, and was married to his late wife, Hazel, for more than 60 years.
He is also father to Lesley (Beryl) and Carl who now live in London.
Among the guests were Cyril's brothers, John and Michael.
John, 94 and from Whitchurch, was formerly the station master at Prees station and, later, Crewe. Michael, 82, who lives around the corner from Cyril, was a mechanic and school bus driver for NCB Motors and Lakeside coaches for more than 60 years.
A total of 35 guests attended the gathering, enjoying festivities in the relaxed atmosphere of the Piggery Café.
The youngest guest, at just 18 months old, was Cyril's great-grandson, Jacob Bishop.
Cyril has supported Hope House Children's Hospice in Shrewsbury for a long time and his birthday party collected a donation of £300 for the hospice.
