Two sisters have lost more than 10 stone by following a slimming plan and supporting each other.

Jo and Claire Farley, who attend the Whitchurch Slimming World group, achieved the milestone in less than a year, crediting their success to a focus on habit change, healthy living, and mutual encouragement.

The sisters said: "Slimming World has changed our lives’ and we would encourage anyone wanting to lose weight to go along to one of Tina’s groups, our advice to anyone that is struggling with their weight is give Slimming World ago you won’t regret it as you can see from our photographs."

Having tried numerous diets before, they said Slimming World stood out for its food freedom, community support, and sustainable approach.

The plan helped them reshape their eating habits, build confidence, and make long-term changes without feeling deprived or isolated.

They learned to prepare filling, healthier versions of their favourite meals, and weekly weigh-ins became positive, reflective moments.

The Whitchurch Slimming World group is run by consultant Tina Price, who said: "I have some fantastic slimmers in my groups, including men and women.

"If you’re inspired by their story and you’d like to drop a dress size or more, come along to the Whitchurch Slimming World group."

The sessions take place every Thursday at Whitchurch Senior Citizen Club, Pearl Yard, at 8am, 9.30am, 11am, 5pm, or 6.30pm.

Ms Price also runs a group in Wem every Wednesday at 5.30pm at the Scout and Guide Hut, Bowensfield.

Ms Price said the sisters’ journey highlights the value of consistent support and realistic lifestyle changes.

Their weight loss also inspired them to become more active.

The pair began swimming and attending aqua fit classes, not as a form of punishment, but as enjoyable, confidence-building activities.

Aqua fit became a regular source of laughter and routine, while swimming lengths offered quiet moments of pride and progress.

Their story, Ms Price said, is a reminder that Slimming World goes beyond dieting, offering a supportive environment and realistic strategies for long-term wellbeing.

It is also a testament to the power of shared journeys, showing that lasting change can begin with a single step and grow through encouragement, accountability and community.
