A man accused of breaking into a salon and a house in Whitchurch with the intent to steal has had his case sent to the crown court.

Brandon Pennell, of London Road in Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire, was brought before magistrates sitting in Telford on Tuesday (October 7), accused of two counts of burglary.

At the hearing, Pennell admitted entering H2 Hair Salon in Whitchurch on March 13, this year, as a trespasser with the intent to steal.

He is also accused of entering 74 Station Road in Whitchurch as a trespasser with the intent to steal the following day, March 14, but gave no indication of plea.

Magistrates sent the cases to Shrewsbury Crown Court where the 21-year-old will appear on November 4 for a plea and trial preparation hearing in relation to the dwelling burglary allegation.

At the same hearing, he will be sentenced for the hair salon burglary.

Pennell was granted unconditional bail until that date.
