A Wem man will be sentenced next month after he admitted having a steak knife in the town.

Ian Guest, of New Street, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a bladed item in a public place when he was brought before Telford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (September 23).

Both charges related to the 41-year-old having a steak knife in Aston Street on June 4, this year.

Magistrates agreed to adjourn so that pre-sentence reports could be completed.

Guest will be sentenced at the court on October 29 and was granted unconditional bail until that date.
