A GROUP of boxers from a Whitchurch boxing club have completed a staggering fundraiser to help purchase a club mini-bus.

Members of Fort Boxing Club walked 89 miles in four days to raise £16,500 by trekking the length of Hadrian's Wall in Scotland.

Organiser Daniel Bailey said: "I am beyond proud of our six young, strong, and determined squad members who took on this extreme challenge.

"They showed true courage every step of the way. We shared laughter, tears, and conquered barriers together. Not once did any of them say they couldn’t do it or didn’t want to try.

"They gave absolutely everything, leaning on each other's strengths to push through."

The Fort Boxing Club plays a vital role in the lives of young people in the area, providing not only fitness and discipline but a safe, supportive environment that builds confidence and life skills.

Daniel added: "A huge shoutout to our pace setters Kenny and Saimon, Flo the big sister keeping everyone in check, Emilie, with her joyful spirit keeping us all on our toes and Joe, the motivator and joker, keeping the energy high

"This is what teamwork is all about — using everyone's unique qualities to overcome challenges."

Daniel also thanked the support team, including wife Michelle who ensured the walking team were well fed throughout while his mother was part of a three person team erecting tents and preparing kit.

Daniel added: "Also, a special thanks to Caroline and Dylan, who kept things running smoothly by running the boxing sessions throughout the week and to everyone who shared, donated, and supported us - your belief in us and trust to lead the team across Britain means the world.

The GoFundMe page will remain open until August 18 with the £18,000 target in sight.

Daniel said: "The club truly deserves it, we are more than just a boxing club, we are a club of opportunities."
