A farmer from Overton has been given a two-year community order after he failed to provide adequate care for his animals.
Robert Kevin Roberts, of Knolton, was sentenced at Wrexham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, May 7.
The 66-year-old pleaded guilty to 18 charges dating from December 2021 to July 2024, when he appeared at the court on March 25, 2025.
The charges included two of failing to isolate sick cows in April 2024; two of failing to provide appropriate conditions where cows could injury themselves on loose tin sheds with sharp edges in April 2024, another where they could injury themselves on a metal gates in April 2024, and another of where they could injury themselves on sharp protrusions in June 2024.
He admitted two counts of not giving an adequate supply of fresh drinking water in April and June 2024; and two of allowing a build-up of manure around calves in April 2024.

Roberts also admitted failing to seek veterinary care in April 2024, and failing to ensure the body of a calf could not be accessed by other animals or birds in June 2024.
He had also admitted six charges of failing to notify the Welsh Government about the movement of cattle on two occasions in January 2022 and August 2024, the death of a cow between April and May 2022, and another between June and July 2024, and keeping an up to date register between December 2021 and June 2024.
He also failed to keep a record of medication given in April 2024.
Magistrates ordered Roberts to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and he must pay £4,508.88 court costs and a £114 victim surcharge.
