Wem Civic Society has announced two Heritage events for September.
The first, a half-day Heritage event, is set to take place on September 14 from 9am to 1pm at the Wem Town Hall.
Activities kick-off with a guided walking tour of Wem Churches & Chapels at 9.30am, to be led by David Smith.
The society requests that anyone interested books in advance.
Following this, an illustrated talk, called 'Wem in WWII', by Oliver Richardson will start at 11.15am, and last for around an hour.
A new Wem Civic Society booklet about the same topic will be made available for purchase.
Tim Ashton will lead a drop-in session titled 'Opening the Gates of Time: Making the Soulton Castle Site Accessible' which begins at 9am.
Mr Ashton's initiative is in the wake of new archaeological findings at the historical site of Soulton Castle.
The aim is to transform the medieval fort into an easily accessible public heritage site for everyone.

On top of these, the event features sales of vintage Shropshire postcards, books, and ephemera from David Benson.
Expect on-site offerings of greetings cards and additional society publications for sale.
In terms of displays, society attendees have two main choices.
One covers the White Horse project with an update and a WCS survey about Wem residents' views on the building's future.
Attendees are kindly asked to share any personal memories or tales related to the White Horse.
The second display delves into the 1930s/1940s Food & Fashion.
Entry to the heritage event is free.
However, the Society welcomes donations to support its initiatives.
Rounding up the month is a special Tudor Food tasting event, labelled 'A Tasting & Talk', on September 20 at 7.30pm in Wem Town Hall.
Attendees will have a unique chance to taste what the Tudors ate and listen to the history of the food, including the tale of Hugo Plat, an Elizabethan entrepreneur.
The tickets are priced at £15 and are available for purchase either from the society or at the Town Hall.
