A MASSIVE festival held in the grounds of Cheshire’s Cholmondeley Castle has been declared a ‘massive success’ by organisers.

Deva Fest brought its fourth year to an end of Sunday, August 11 with its biggest crowd to date, welcoming nearly 20,000 guests across the weekend who enjoyed a jam-packed lineup of music, comedy and entertainment.

Deva Fest organiser Phil Marston thanked everyone who came to support the festival that saw top acts such as Wirral favourites The Coral, The Human League and Ocean Colour Scene.

“We are absolutely thrilled with how Deva Fest 2024 has turned out and the feedback we received so far,” he said.

“The atmosphere was electric and it was wonderful to see so many families, friends and festival lovers coming together to enjoy everything we had on offer.

“Each year, our goal is to create a festival that not only showcases top talent but also fosters a real sense of community and I think we’ve truly achieved that.

“We’re already looking ahead to 2025 and we can’t wait to announce what we’ve got in store.”

Hundreds of acts performed across the festival's five stages over the four days, seeing everything from standup comedy, local choirs and a pitstop from Eastenders Shaun Williamson who brought his popular Barrioke show on Sunday, which saw him duet with festival attendees on some karaoke classics. 

A spokesman for the festival added their thanks to all those that made it work for the partygoers.

They said: “Festival-goers also indulged in a variety of culinary delights with food stalls once again led by Chester business Artezzan, while the festival’s four bars were manned by the team at iKO.

“Their offerings, which included a mix of gourmet street food and drinks including craft beer courtesy of Vocation Brewery, Brothers Cider and ThinK Wine, were a hit among attendees, with sell outs across the board.”

Those looking to get their plans into place for 2025 can do so after organisers confirmed the dates for next year’s celebrations.

They added: “Looking ahead, the organisers have announced that Deva Fest will return to Cholmondeley Castle from August 7-10, 2025, with those wanting to be the first to know encouraged to sign up on the festivals website here.”
