Water had to be ferried from half a mile away to tackle a fire in Malpas.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service had to use their ingenuity after a container caught fire in Malpas yesterday (June 30).
Crews were called to the scene on Bickley Town Lane yesterday evening at 10.47pm after receiving a call reporting a fire involving a 24-foot container.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A fire covering some 24 square metres, involving an intermediate bulk container, was tackled by firefighters.
“Water had to be ferried from the nearest hydrants which were around half a mile away from the incident to enable the crew to fight the fire.
“A thermal imaging camera was used to monitor temperatures and the surrounding areas checked for fire spread. All areas were turned over and damped down.”
