FOOD being burnt in Whitchurch has prompted the call-out of Shropshire firefighters on Monday afternoon.
One crew from Whitchurch and one from Wem were sent to Talbot Street, in the town centre, shortly before 12.15pm after reports of a house fire.
A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesman confirmed that firefighters arrived to find smoke in the kitchen and took action.

They said: “Two fire appliances were mobilised from Wem and Whitchurch because of reports of smoke in the kitchen.
“The smoke was caused by burnt food and crews isolated the oven.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control around 15 minutes after arrival to confirm that no further support was required.
