WH SMITH has revealed why one of its branches is currently closed.
Motorists using Welcome Break's Hartshead Moor services, between Brighouse and Chain Bar, have been arriving to find the store, on the westbound carriageway, shut.
Boards have been put up across the entire frontage of the shop unit.
A sign reads: "Sorry, we're closed. Our nearest WH Smith is just a short walk over the bridge."
A spokesperson at Welcome Break said: "Our WH Smith store at Hartshead Moor Westbound is currently closed while it undergoes a refurbishment, and we look forward to it reopening at the end of this month."
The WH Smith shop in the building on the eastbound carriageway is continuing to operate as normal.
