DETAILS of a diesel spill in Malpas on Wednesday have been released by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS).

One crew from Malpas was sent to Ebnal Lane shortly before 8.30pm on Wednesday after a delivery van overturned and diesel leaked onto the road.

A spokesman for CFRS confirmed that the driver of the vehicle was not injured and that the fire crew made the scene safe.

They said: “Following an incident involving an overturned delivery van, a large quantity of diesel had leaked onto the road.

“The driver of the van was checked over by firefighters and no injuries were reported.

“The crew used absorbent mats and dammit mats to protect drains from the diesel leak and made the scene safe.”
