A WHITCHURCH school has put out an appeal to parents and helpers to clear a space that will host a ‘spiritual garden’.
Lower Heath Primary School, in Prees, is part of the Marches Academy Trust and staff there say work to build the garden will begin in the spring.
However, volunteers are needed to help clear the space intended for the garden and allow staff to make a good start, with a session on Saturday, February 3 to clear a lot of ground.
A school spokesman said: “You may remember in the autumn term, we had a creative afternoon, celebrating Interfaith Week, to recognise the diversity of the different faiths in our country and around the world.
“During this time, our children produced some designs for a spiritual garden, which is going to be developed to replace our allotment area and greenhouse, which at the moment, looks in need of a lot of care.
“With the help of Jill Leighton, from the school, and Jonathan Allen from Holly Farm Garden Centre, we now have a rough design for our Spiritual Garden.
“To enable us to begin work on this exciting project, we need to clear the existing area so we would be so grateful for your help!
“If you can spare any time at all on Saturday, February 3 between 10am and 3pm, please come along and help us.
“It will be wonderful to see the garden transformed from its current, very sad state, into a wonderful area for the children to enjoy to develop their wellbeing.
“We look forward to seeing you then.”
