ANYONE wishing to go full ‘New Year, New Me’ by running the town’s 10k race next spring can do so with a special offer.

The Whitchurch 10K, in conjunction with Sir John Talbot School, in Tilstock Road, is offering a January-only offer of 10 per cent discount for anyone signing up with the code NEWYEAR24.

The race, which has attracted a good number of elite club runners since its inception prior to Covid-19, will be taking place on the streets of Whitchurch on Sunday, April 7.

OTHER NEWS:

Entries to the race closes a week before on Monday, April 1 at 8.30pm.

A spokesman for the event said: “Sir John Talbot's School Whitchurch 10K has a special January offer just for you.

“Enjoy a 10 per cent discount on registration with code NEWYEAR24 and make your New Year's resolution a reality. Lace up those running shoes and join us on the path to a healthier you

They added: “Starting and finishing at Sir John Talbot’s School, the course is mainly flat but we have incorporated some short hills just to keep you a little challenged.

“It is confined to roads within the boundaries of our historic market town.

“The town centre, with its half-timbered buildings, bustling pubs and the imposing Georgian Grade I-listed St Alkmund’s Church will form part of the course, where we hope the residents of the town and visitors alike, will congregate to shout, cheer and encourage all runners.

“The course has been finalised and is available via www.sirjohntalbots.co.uk/whitchurch-10k/10k/ and the Sir John Talbot's School Whitchurch 10K Facebook page.

“There will be one water station on the course with additional water available to runners at the finish.

“Should the weather be particularly hot on the day, additional water stations may be added.”

The race is open to runners aged 15 and over and entry costs £21 or £19 for runners affiliated to UK Athletics.
