NOUGHTIES boy band Blue are the first name to be announced for a major new music festival in north Shropshire next year.

Organisers of Hawkstone Park Live have confirmed the boyband as the first headline act of the late May Bank Holiday concert series being held at Hawkstone Park close to Whitchurch and Wem next year.

A spokesman for the event organisers said they are delighted to secure their first big name and its four member Antony Costa, Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan and Duncan  James.

They said: “The Brit Award winners have sold more than 15 million records worldwide, including three UK number one singles.

“They will entertain crowds along with yet-to-be-confirmed supporting acts on the opening night of the event, Friday, May 24.”

A 48-hour pre-sale of tickets for selected local residents within SY and TF postcode areas is now live at ticketing platform, and all other general admission tickets went on sale on Christmas Eve.
