A BUILDING fire outside Whitchurch led to two Shropshire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews being called out on Thursday night.

Two crews – from Prees and Hodnet – were sent to Lower heath, in Prees, at 10.05pm on Thursday.

A SFRS spokesman confirmed that two crews were sent as well as an operations officer and a fire investigation officer.

They added: “Crews used breathing apparatus, a hosereel jet, a short extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera.

“A brick and block building, approximately 10m by 10m fully involved in fire.

“Crews extinguished using two hose reel jets. Crews continued to dampen down.”

A stop message was sent to SFRS control to confirm no further support was needed around 50 minutes later.
