A WHITCHURCH homecare business is celebrating after it picked up a prestigious industry award for the fifth year running.

AStar Homecare Services, Whitchurch, recently added another two prestigious gongs for 2023 at the Great British Care Awards in Manchester.

They were able to add “Best Care Employer in the North West” and “Best Care team in the North West” to their collection.

Gill Holden, owner and director alongside her husband Adam, said they were left speechless by the company’s victory at the awards where staff arrived by limousine.

And it was to the staff she dedicated the wins.

“I literally can’t believe it,” she said.

“These awards are two of the best ­– we feel so honoured.

“ We knew we had the best team, but for others to recognise this really is a testament to the team that we have today.

“They all go above and beyond and deserve this.

“My husband and I set this company up five years ago in the hope we could try to make a difference to our community.

“We feel we really have achieved this with the help of some incredible people.

“As people may be aware, we recently joined forces with LIPA care who have plans to support us to grow while retaining the quality.

“We have already grown by more than 30 per cent in four months and look forward to offering our services to more of you.”

Gillian added that as par tof this growth plan, she and Adam are planning to move the company into permanent officers based in Whitchurch.

But they are also hoping to raise funds to bring a community car into the business, meaning they can cover more ground.

She added: “We can’t wait to move offices to the town centre to get more involved in the community.

“We were lucky enough to get a lifting cushion which has already helped our community and now we are looking to fundraise for a community car”

“It’s no wonder we are winning awards.
