ORGANISERS and managers of a foodbank in Whitchurch have thanked a fish and chip shop owner in the town for a generous donation.
Gary Gardiner runs Gardiner’s Traditional Fish and Chips in Mill Street, Whitchurch, and recently donated £100 towards Whitchurch Foodbank, which is based in Bargates.
Foodbank manager Alan Scutt said he was delighted to receive the invitation to receive the cash, and thanked Gary for his support.
He said: “Gary Gardiner is no stranger to supporting local causes.
“Previously he has provided generous support to the local schools, football teams and the Whitchurch hospital to name just a few.

“Therefore I was, as manager and chairman of Whitchurch Foodbank, delighted to receive an invitation from Gary to receive a gift of £100 for the work of the foodbank in the town.
“We were represented to Gary and his staff by Vic Woodhouse who has been a loyal volunteer at the Foodbank for the past 10 years.
“He is also a regular supporter of Gardiner’s Fish & Chips which he thinks are ‘just the best’ which is a comment I whole-heatedly endorsed.”
