HEDGE cuttings that caught fire in a Cheshire garden led to the call out of firefighters on Monday night.

Cheshire firefighters from Malpas were sent to Croxton Green in Cholmondeley after 11.40pm after reports of the garden fire.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue said one crew was sent to the scene.

They added: "It was a fire in a garden involving hedge cuttings, and was extinguished by firefighters using a hose reel jet."
