A YELLOW weather warning for thunderstorms will stretch across north Shropshire from tomorrow (Wednesday, Aug 2) morning.

The Met Office is predicting the emergence of heavy showers and thunderstorms, raising concerns over potential flooding and travel disruptions.

The warning, which covers the whole of the Midlands, most of Wales, and across to East Anglia, will come into effect at 9am with hopes for the storms to have passed by 7pm.

Some of the anticipated impacts include lightning strikes that may cause damage to a few buildings and structures, necessitating vigilance and safety measures.

Driving conditions are likely to be adversely affected by spray, standing water, and hail, resulting in extended travel times for motorists and public transport users.

Train services may experience delays, affecting commuters' schedules.

There is a possibility of temporary power outages and disruptions to essential services.

Preparedness is essential in such situations, and residents are urged to stay tuned to local authorities and weather updates to ensure their safety and minimize inconveniences.
