FOLLOWING a brief break for the July 'Alderfest,' Whitchurch Rotary Club is all set to launch its second batch of car boot sales.

The upcoming events, scheduled for August 6, September 3, and October 1, come on the heels of the highly successful earlier sales that raised over £2,000 for the club's charity account.

These funds primarily aid local community needs, in addition to supporting Rotary's international response work.

Graham King, the club president, expressed gratitude for Alderford Lake's unwavering support, enabling them to utilise the spacious field free of charge.

He said: “The support from Alderford Lake, which allows us to use such a large field free of charge, has enabled us to build one of the biggest fundraising initiatives in our 2023 calendar.

OTHER NEWS:

“The only break, Since April, came in June when the field was earmarked for the Alderfest music festival.

“But now we’re back again to give deal-hunters another three chances to find potentially valuable bargains or just buy an early Christmas present.”

With the community's support, these car boot sales have proven to be a resounding success, benefitting all parties involved.

Sellers seize the opportunity to earn money, while buyers find enticing bargains.

Mr King added: “It’s that ‘four-way win’ again - sellers earn money, buyers find affordable bargains, entrance fees go into our charity account, which always needs topping up, and then we have more money for the community projects like our prostate testing programme, Christmas Day meals, the Lifeline home emergency call system and ongoing support for town projects and youth groups.
