A MAN has been banned from driving for 16 months after he got behind the wheel while disqualified.
Ian Smith drove a Peugeot 207 on Thompson Drive in Whitchurch on April 28, this year, Telford Magistrates' Court was told.
He also had no insurance to drive the vehicle.
The 48-year-old, of no fixed abode in Shrewsbury, pleaded guilty to both offences when he appeared at the court last month.
Magistrates disqualified Smith from driving for 16 months and fined him £379 for driving without a licence.
They also ordered he pay £152 to the victim services fund and £152 court costs.
No separate penalty was issued for the insurance offence.
