FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house in Wem on Thursday (Arpil 27) afternoon.
The incident was reported as a house fire in Sisters Field at around 5.20pm.
Two fire crews from Wem and Prees were called out, along with an operations officer.
A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue explained: "Smoke issuing from domestic boiler in the kitchen.
"This fire was out on arrival but crews have carried out an inspection using a thermal image camera and isolated the gas."
The stop call to say no further assistance was needed came in at 5.35pm.
