A WHITCHURCH business owner has thanked her customers for support after reaching her sixth year trading.

Sharron Marriott has owned homeware business, Make Your House a Home, in the Watergate Arcade since 2017.

Sharron made the decision to launch her own business after working for a company for 23 years.

She explained: "It was quite a leap of faith to open it in the first place.

"I left the company which I worked with for 23 years and to go it alone is quite something to do.

"With the Covid-19 pandemic, it is quite an achievement.

"I am looking forward to my seventh year of trading."

The Make Your House a Home owner praised people in Whitchurch for the support she has received since running her store.

Sharron said: "The local community around here are lovely. The 'shop local' attitude is very good.

"We have had a lot of new people move into the area and people are shopping in the town because there are so many independents.

"And there are a lot of interesting things happening this year with new developments and housing.

"It was a good place to open a shop."

Sharron added: "I'd like to thank the local community for their support. Without them, I would not be here."

Many events will be taking place in the town this spring and summer, and Sharron is hoping to benefit.

She said: "Hopefully with the coronation of King Charles III there will be a lot of people around celebrating that. That might be good.

"The summer is always quite a good period as we get a lot of holidaymakers.

"Not long after that we will be looking forward to Christmas again.

"I just have to keep planning forward for the next thing which is happening."

Sharron's customer base from outside Whitchurch and the surrounding areas continues to grow.

She added: "We get customers from Crewe, Nantwich and other parts of Cheshire. We have even had people from Ludlow.

"It is all positive for the town.

"All the business owners in Whitchurch are very pro-active on social media.

"We all promote the town quite a lot which helps."
