THE owner of a Whitchurch cleaning company has spoken of her delight and amazement after after coming third in a national competition.

Sparkle & Shine Domestic Cleaning Services came third in the 'Best Domestic Cleaning Company' competition and competeted against three other companies from across the country.

The event was hosted by the Domestic Cleaning Business Network (DCBN) and director Jessica Thomas was pleased to see her company come third after coming up against companies from bigger towns and cities.

She said: "It is really great to be in a small town and it is amazing to come third best in the UK.

"The company from Newcastle and the second one was from Scotland.

"To be up against such big competition was an incredible achievement.

"We have a small business and we have done well to be up against people from the cities."

Jessica paid tribute to her team and credited them for the company's achievements.

She added: "We have worked really hard to get there.

"I am really proud of my team for what we have done.

"It just shows that a small business in a market town can achieve what they want to achieve with the passion and belief behind it.

"There is a lot of teamwork in the day to day jobs.

"It is not just me, it is the whole company."

Jessica hopes to use its recent success to expand the business.

She said: "We are looking to expand the business next year and get our own office.

"We want too keep striving to achieve and hopefully we will win the award.

"We would be looking to have the office in Whitchurch.

"I want toi keep it local as we are a local business which services Witchurch and the surrounding areas."

The event has helped Jessica with networking and finding new customers.

She said: "We had new clients who came across us through the award.

"You have got to have huge trust with clients and this provides us with the trust.

"We have other companies ask us questions.

"It has been useful for promoting ourselves.

"It opens new doors.

"This is amazing for us and we should get a lot more clients from it."
