A RUMMAGE sale in Ellesmere has raised hundreds of pounds for a project to help vulnerable people in the town.
The Grand Rummage Sale, held last weekend, has raised £430 for the Food and Warm Clothes Sharing project.
The sale, held at the town's Comrades Club in Victoria Street, was busy throughout the day, according to organisers, with clothes and footwear for all ages, a raffle and refreshments including tea and a large selection of homemade cakes.
The project will continue to hold a small collection of warm clothes at the Food Share, but most of the remaining items will be donated to local charity shops.
Organiser Anne Wignall, who is also mayor of Ellesmere, said she was grateful for the support the town had given the day.
She said: "We are so grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of the day. “Thank you to those who donated clothes, cakes and raffle prizes, to all the volunteers and, of course, to everyone who came along and supported us.

Anne added: “Anyone in the local area who is feeling the pinch and needs a top-up of food is very welcome.”
