CARE home staff and residents in Malpas were given a 'pizza the action' this week, with a free surprise.

Pizza Peddlers from the village surprised the team at Prospect House with free, freshly-cooked pizzas.

John Hogan, the owner of the catering firm, parked his van outside the care home in the High Street, and cooked fresh pizzas for staff and residents.

Sarah Stroud, the manager of Prospect House, said it was a complete surprise.

She added: "What a lovely gift and visit from Pizza Peddlers.

"It was a complete surprise to all of us, and how could we resist free pizza.

"Everyone enjoyed their pizza, in fact one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had.

"Such a kind gesture from a local company, we felt so special."

Prospect House provides residential, nursing, and expert care for residents with dementia, and also for short-term respite care.
