A BLOW torch set fire to a wasps nest at a house in Wem on Thursday (August 11) evening.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed the small fire involved the nest and a small amount of roof felting in the roof cavity.
The incident happened at a property in Shooters Hill at around 6.45pm.
Fire crews were sent from Hodnet, Shrewsbury and Wellington were in attendance and used a hosereel jet, small gear and the aerial ladder platform to tackle the fire.

A spokesperson for SFRS said: "Two fire appliances including the aerial ladder platform were mobilised from Hodnet, Shrewsbury and Wellington. An operations officer was in attendance.
"Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire: hosereel jet and small gear.
"Small fire involving wasps nest and small amount of roofing felt in roof cavity caused by blow torch."
The stop call – to say no further crews were needed – came in just before 8pm.
