"The bike was funded by a very generous legacy of nearly £40,000 from a Shrewsbury man Michael Sproat and in keeping with their habit of naming bikes in recognition of a person or company, SSCBB named this new Moto Guzzi 'Christian.'

"Although they knew very little about Mike Sproat, they did know he was a devout Christian (hence the choice of name) with a great fondness for motor bikes even though he never owned one himself.

"Mike Sproat had no family but close friends of his joined the unveiling.

"The new bike will be located in Shropshire."
