POLICE have used a drone as they continue to search for a Staffordshire Bull Terrier which went missing.

The dog escaped from kennels in Whitchurch on Monday, August 1 and has been described by West Mercia Police as 'dangerous.'

It was initially spotted in Hollinswood, near Telford, but since then there have been no further sightings.

A spokesperson for West Mercia police called on communities to remain vigilant.

They added: "Our officers have carried out extensive searches in the village of Hollinswood, Shropshire and surrounding areas, and worked with Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service in an attempt to locate the dog through the use of a drone.

"Unfortunately, there haven’t been any further sightings so we urge communities to remain vigilant.

"This dog is dangerous.

"If you see it, please do not approach and instead dial 999 quoting incident 475i of August 1."
