A GP who worked in a medical practice in Wem will retire next week after serving people in the area for almost 30 years.
Dr Patrick Beresford worked at Wem and Prees Medical Practice for 27 years.
He will be retire on Monday, August 1.
A spokesperson for the practice said he would be missed by both colleagues and patients.
They also promised patients they would be allocated a new GP and that their health was a priority.
They added: "After 27 years of working in partnership at Wem and Prees Medical Practice, Dr Patrick Beresford will be retiring from the practice with effect from August 1, 2022.
"Please be assured that those new patients registered with Dr Beresford will be allocated a new named GP and we will endeavour to ensure a smooth transition.
"Your health and continued care is our priority.
"Dr Beresford will be missed by both colleagues and patients and we wish him every happiness in his retirement."
