It’s time for your close-up – and our Camera Club photographers have their lenses at the ready.

We’re always delighted to see the landscape of our area captured in the gloriously expansive pictures submitted to the club each week.

But for one week only, this week we’re taking a look at the shots presented by club members who have zoomed in on the intricate details of their subjects – and have been rewarded for their endeavours with shots that truly capture the precise beauty of the world around us.

Whether it’s still life, and the fragile beauty of the flowers that bloom in our gardens, or photographers capturing the fleeting moment that an insect arrives on before swiftly departing from a garden leaf, photography in close-up can be truly breath-taking.

With the sun having been blazing in the skies this week, the cover provided by the foliage in our parks and our gardens for small animals might also provide the perfect platform for photographic perfection.

Minibeasts hiding in the shadows, or even basking in the heat, are looking for some respite from the unprecedented heat of a record-breaking British summer – so wipe your lens and get snapping.

If you want to take up your camera and joining our ever-growing crew of citizen snappers, just sign up to the Camera Club Facebook group and start sharing your images with our like-minded, welcoming members.
