A PERFORMING arts school based in Whitchurch has recently performed its summer show and is proud of its young performers.

Maggie Mays Performing Arts performed the show 'Tales of the Savannah' in the Whitchurch Civic Centre on Sunday, July 10.

Susie Thurogood a musical theatre teacher and show coordinator praised the young performers for the event.

She said: "Maggie Mays Performing Arts teachers are extremely proud of all the students who performed at their summer show, 'Tales of the Savannah' in the Whitchurch civic centre on Sunday, July 10.

"The children had been working of their performances between competition and exam practice for the last two terms.

"All students displayed great professionalism, especially our seniors who stepped in enthusiastically to support the younger members of our dance family on stage when needed or on occasion just because they wanted to join in with the fun.

"The performance showcased dance and drama pieces from across the full range of classes at the dance school.

It included musical theatre, ballet, tap, acro, hip hop, commercial, contemporary and pointe.

"There was a magical moment where the younger ballerinas were sat in the wings watching the pointe dancers perform beautifully on stage, their eyes sparkling with the excitement of 'that'll be me one day.'

"That is what its all about, inspiring kids.

"We had incredible support from our fantastic dance community, front of house and backstage doing set, costume, props, hair and make up and more.

"We are so grateful to you all.

"Maggie Mays Performing Arts has beautiful dance studios in both Whitchurch and Market Drayton and we are offering free trials to any children who would like to come along and try a class next term."
