POLICE have revealed their latest efforts to tackling anti-social behaviour in Whitchurch.

Officers from Whitchurch Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) confirmed they visited a tenant with a housing service provider to discuss a recent incident of anti-social behaviour on Tuesday, July 19.

PCSO Hannah Lister from Whitchurch SNT said the meetings are held regularly and show the work which happens.

She added: "Whitchurch SNT have attended a joint visit with a housing service provider in Whitchurch.

"This was with ourselves, the tenant and a housing officer to discuss recent anti-social behaviour.

"Police regularly work in a multi-agency capacity to deal with anti-social behaviour and are in regular contact with housing providers in the area to show tenants that should their behaviour continue, both the police and housing will act jointly in the best interests of the wider community.

"Should housing deem the anti-social behaviour serious enough tenants can be served a notice to leave the property permanently by the housing provider.

"This is just one of the ways police can, and do deal with anti-social behaviour which we are highlighting as part of our anti-social behaviour awareness week.

"This is not an unusual meeting, they are held regularly however we wanted to highlight some of the work that happens behind the scenes on a weekly basis to help make the area you live in a better place to be."
