A NEW health clinic for people with disabilities and orthopaedic conditions has been officially opened in Tarporley by the MP for Eddisbury, Edward Timpson.

The Spire Health Clinic was opened and it is located within a gym at the heart of the village and Mr Timpson was able to view the facilities available for patients.

The hospital director at Spire Cheshire Hospital, Ben White showed Mr Timpson the new benefits the Tarporley Clinic will bring to residents such as enabling patients in rural Cheshire to access expert medical advice in a relaxing and calm environment.

Mr White said it was a pleasure to welcome Mr Timpson.

He added: "It was a pleasure to welcome Mr Timpson to the new clinic and inform him of the fantastic services we offer.

"The clinic has started off with orthopaedic, men’s health, colorectal and gastroenterologist consultants practising, and will expand the range of services in the coming weeks and months.

"The clinic helps to relieve pressure on NHS waiting lists, and responds to the high demand from patients who wish to access to consultant-led care privately."

Mr Timpson thanked the staff for showing him around.

He said: "I would like to thank Spire Healthcare staff for taking the time to show me their new clinic in Tarporley.

"The work carried out by health workers in facilities such as this helps to ensure people are able to live full and rewarding lives.

"Tarporley is very quickly becoming a hub of high-quality healthcare in both the public and private sectors, not only with the opening of this new clinic, but also with the settlement securing the future of the Tarporley War Memorial Hospital and the rural outreach services that will provide."

Dr Subramanian Ramakrishnan, a consultant gastroenterologist praised the clinic and said it would enable him to see more patients.

He said: "The new clinic offers a more informal ambience than traditional hospital settings, and I have noticed that my patients have felt more relaxed and comfortable.

"The clinic also enables me to access to a larger number of patients in a more convenient location for them."
