THE POLICE and Crime Commissioner (PCC) and the Chief Constable of West Mercia Police paid a visit to Whitchurch.

PCC John Campion and Chief Constable Pippa Mills were in Whitchurch on Thursday, June 16 and met with the town clerk of Whitchurch Town Council, Mike McDonald.

PCSO Hannah Lister from Whitchurch Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT) said Mr Campion and Chief Constable Mills spoke with residents.

She added: "Lovely visit today from the chief constable, Pippa Mills and the Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion.

"We went out on foot with many local residents spoken with.

"Also, we helped an elderly resident who had locked herself out of her house and was stuck out in the sun."

Mr McDonald said the town council was looking forward to working closely with the police.

He said: "We had a lovely visit today from the new West Mercia Police Chief Constable, Pippa Mills and the West Mercia PCC, John Campion and our local Shropshire team.

"We are looking forward to working with our law enforcement colleagues in the future."
