A BARBECUE gone near wrong in Wem led to firefighters being called on Thursday evening.
One crew from the town's fire station was sent to Oakley meadow in Wem at 6.20pm on Thursday after reports of a fire on a barbecue near a gas cylinder.
Crews used a hosereel jet to put out the fire and also used a thermal imaging camera to ensure that no hotspots remained.
A stop message was sent to control around 6.45pm.
