WAYS to encourage more councillors into joining Ellesmere Town Council will be discussed at its full monthly meeting on Monday.

With one space ready for co-adoption, Ellesmere Town Council is also waiting for a notice period to end regarding another space on the council that has opened up.

At the meeting on Monday, starting at 7.15pm at Ellesmere Town Hall in Willow Street, councillors will be asked to come up with ideas regarding a recruitment drive to attract more members to join the council.

Meanwhile, councillors will also discuss reported parking issues at the Mere as it enters its busiest season for tourists.

A proposal from Ellesmere Rural Parish Council on the boundary between the rural and urban areas of Ellesmere is also an agenda item while the opportunity to take part in the Shropshire Verges project will also be discussed.

The project is for a 'no-mow' policy until July this year, after the success of 'No Mow May' and is concerned with the restoration of wildflowers on Shropshire's verges.

It is being partly-funded by Shropshire Council and Ellesmere councillors will be asked to consider taking part.

The Shropshire Council Customer Service bus will be visiting three times over three months – Thursday, June 9, Thursday, July 7 and Thursday, August 4.

Councillors will be asked to consider end-of-year annual governance and accounts for the year ending March 31, 2022 and also correspondence from Ellesmere groups.
