A SPECIAL Jubilee service will take place in Wem next month as the town celebrates the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

A service of thanksgiving will be held at St Peter and St Paul's Church on Sunday, June 5 from 10am.

Nathan Burley, pastor of Wem Baptist Church, paid tribute to the Queen's "remarkable reign."

He added: "Her Majesty has had a remarkable reign, serving our nation faithfully for over seventy years.

"Her Christian faith has been an enormous part of that.

"In honouring her, we also want to draw attention to the King she serves, the Lord Jesus Christ.

"Why not come and find out more?"

All are welcome.
