A PLANNING proposal to change the use of land close to Ellesmere town centre has been granted, just months after it had been initially refused.

The proposal was for an outline application for the commercial use of land which adjoins premises in Grange Road, which was initially refused on March 18, this year.

The application was for changing the use of the land to B1, B2 and B8 use but a Shropshire Council planning officer said it had been rejected because of a 'lack of information' around the ecological environment.

They added: "Insufficient information has been provided to allow the authority to be able to assess the impacts on ecology and any protected species.

"Additional information is required in relation to an updated Ecological Appraisal.

"In the absence of this additional information it is not possible to conclude that the proposal will not cause an offence under the 2019 Conservation of Habitats and Species."

However, the application has now been deemed as acceptable but with planning conditions such as appearance of the development and building work carried out in three years.
