A MALPAS developer is organising a competition in which people share photographs of their favourite views of the area.

McCarthy Stone, which is behind The Cedars retirement development in the town, hopes the photographs, which can show scenery and wildlife, will be enjoyed by new and prospective homeowners.

Homeowners and the McCarthy Stone team in The Cedars will judge competition entries and the winner will receive £250, as well as being unveiled in the development’s Communal Lounge along with a commemorative plaque.

Fiona Brookes, divisional sales director at McCarthy Stone, said many people re-discovered the joys of walking and exploring outdoors and encouraged people in Cheshire to get involved.

She said: "The last two years have seen many of us rediscover the joys of walking and exploring the outdoors during the pandemic.

"For most this trend has continued, with walks remaining a part of people’s weekly routines.

"Cheshire has so many breath-taking views and wonderful places to visit, and a walk in the spring sun is the perfect opportunity to appreciate the landscapes and landmarks on our doorstep.

"We would like to encourage people in Cheshire to take their cameras or phones when they are on their walks, capture photographs of Cheshire in all its splendour and enter our competition."

The competition is open to all UK residents over 16 and the closing date is midnight on Sunday, June 12.

Entrants may enter a maximum of five photos but may only enter once.

The prize winner will be notified by Sunday, June 26.
