A HUGELY-popular venue in Whitchurch is ramping up its promotion for one of the biggest events it is ever held – Alderfest!

Alderford Lake, off Tilstock Road, announced in March this year that it will be hosting its first-ever day music festival on Saturday, July 16 and it will be headlined by four huge award-winning names.

Boy band Five will be joined by The Feeling, Toploader and Scouting for Girls with the whole event being presented by Capital FM's Sonny Jay.

On Sunday, May 1, Alderford Lake bosses took to its social media channels to remind people that general sale tickets remain available.

They said: "Who would have thought that our little town, Whitchurch would be hosting bands who have had number ones, won BRIT awards and MTV Music Awards?

"We feel so unbelievably lucky to be in a position to host this festival and we are beyond excited to welcome these people to Whitchurch – a true 'pinch me' moment.

"Join us on July 16 for what is guaranteed to be an unforgettable day."

The full line-up on the day also includes Whitchurch's very own AJ and Curtis Pritchard, who will be opening the show and keeping everyone entertained throughout the whole event.

The spokesman added: "They will also be offering budding young dancers the opportunity to learn some wicked dance moves with their dance workshops.

"As well as an incredible line up for all the adults, there is also loads of fun to be had for the kids.

"We’ll have Zeus, the biggest walking T-Rex in Europe making an appearance on the main stage with his friend raptor prowling around the festival.

"A fun and enchanting princess show where you can sing and dance, accompanied by our immersive storyteller, Jake, and learn to be a dinosaur ranger in our ranger training camps.

"Revel in the day with a wild swim in the lake, try something new with our stand up paddleboarding or have a full adventure on our even bigger Aqua Park."

There will also be a silent disco as well as an open-air market with a wide range of traders both local and from further afield selling everything from gifts to festival essentials, with also a huge variety of food stalls.

Those looking for a day to remember can buy VIP tickets at £230, which promises 'the best seat in the house' while general sale tickets are available for £55 for adults, £35 for children aged 12-16 and £25 for those aged between three and 11.

Children under two are free.
