POLICE in north Shropshire have confirmed they have arrested a person on suspicion of attempted murder.

Officers in Market Drayton have taken to social media to give an update on an incident in the town on Friday morning.

Few details have been released about the incident.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "One of the incidents I have been supervising this morning is an attempted murder in Market Drayton and can confirm my team have made an arrest.

"There are no outstanding offenders and there are no furthe concerns for the general public.

"Enquires continue."
