ONE of Ellesmere's most popular venues has released upcoming events for the end of April, including an appeal to help refugees from Ukraine.

Ellesmere Comrade Sports and Social Club, in Victoria Street, will be playing host to a number of events for fundraising and fun.

The club, which has a large function room available to hire, had hosted an excellent Bingo night to raise funds for the Carnival, set to take place later this year, on Friday.

And a spokesman for the club added there are two more crucial events for the diary.

They said: "Next Friday, April 29, it will be Val's Quiz in the lounge, raising money for Hope House which will be 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

"Then on Saturday April 30 there will be a table-top sale for the Ukraine Appeal in the concert room while in the evening, Double Focus, will be performing in the Lounge with free entrance to Members.

"Doors are open from 7.30pm while there is a regular Cash Bingo every Thursday night from 7.30pm in the Lounge.

"Non-members welcome."

The Comrades Club hosts a variety of classes, day, and night, with snooker and pool teams.

They serve Sunday lunches, with local delivery available, breakfast and lunch on a Tuesday, with food available Saturday evening before the entertainment.
