April is the kindest month or once it was said.

Perhaps it is true? Certainly the cold winter seems a lifetime ago while the summer remains far distant.

Only in April can we find a mixture of the two main seasons.

Of course April makes up spring but when you venture out you can see the signs of summer battling for their day in the sun.

So we find ourselves in a month which feels wintery yet optimistically looking toward the summer months.

Spring is the reward for the long wait.

Every religious tradition from the northern hemisphere honours some form of April hallelujah, for this is the season of exquisite redemption, a return to joy after a season of cold.

Certainly our camera club visual story tellers have stepped up to the mark this April.

Some wonderful pictures have been shared of our beautiful part of the world for the enjoyment of our readers.

We live in a part of the world which is often forgotten and isolated from more affluent and larger populations.

However this also means that our wonderful part of the world remains greener and we must all play our part to ensure this remains our way of life.

We can all play a part in preserving our countryside so ensure you treat the streets, hills and rivers outside our doors as we would our homes.
