THE MP for North Shropshire, Helen Morgan, has criticised the Prime Minister after he appeared in Parliament for the first time since being fined for breaching Covid-19 restrictions.
Boris Johnson apologised for the parties held in Downing Street which he had previously denied had taken place.
However, Ms Morgan called it 'too little, too late' and called on Conservative MPs to vote for an investigation into Mr Johnson's behaviour.
She added: "Boris Johnson’s statement yesterday was too little too late.
"He has lied to parliament, and he has lied to the country.
"We all made a collective sacrifice; we all have a story about a time we didn’t visit a loved one in order to protect the NHS.
"At a time when so many people across Shropshire and the rest of the country are facing a cost-of-living crisis we cannot afford to have a PM who breaks the law.
The PM should not use the ongoing war in Ukraine as an excuse to let his behaviour off the hook.
"On Thursday I will be voting to ensure the PM is investigated for lying to Parliament over attending lockdown parties.
"Conservative MPs in Shropshire must do the right thing, they cannot stand behind a liar and a law-breaker
"They must join me and vote for an investigation."
MPs will vote on whether Mr Johnson should be investigated for misleading Parliament.
