A CHESHIRE distillery has launched a new service to allow customers to refill gin bottles directly at its base.

Customers of Three Wrens Gin, based in Combermere, will get £5 off the price of gin when bottles are refilled and additional packaging will be removed from circulation.

Since opening, the company has pledged dedication to the environmental cause and it is self-sufficient for the many key botanicals in their gin.

Owner and distiller, Nick Wadeson said Three Wrens has been passionate about sustainability but wanted to go a step further.

He said: "We have always been passionate about sustainability and using home-grown ingredients, but we wanted to go one step further and allow our customers to opt out of packaging entirely.

"Now those who enjoy Three Wrens gin can do so by coming directly to the source.

"It is very important for us to be an environmentally conscious distillery."

The Three Wrens is working with the environmental organisation, Ecologi, to plant thousands of trees per year to balance out its carbon footprint and achieved carbon neutral workforce status last year through the programme.
