MALPAS Flower Club held its March meeting and welcomed a florist from Southport to put on a demonstration for its members.
Tom Hodge put on a demonstration with the title "Spring Melody" at the event held on March 21.
June Davies, from Malpas Flower Club, said the club members got to see a variety of flower arrangements and that the afternoon had been enjoyable.
She added: "He treated us with nine arrangements with unusual containers.
"One of the containers was made out of poplar leaves and painted white and another with black straws held in place with wire.
"His variety of flowers was lovely and very apt as our meeting was on March 21, the first day of spring.
"It was a very enjoyable afternoon."
On Wednesday, April 6, the club will be having a lunch at the Cock O' Barton, Barton Road, to celebrate their 60th year.
Visitors are always welcome at their monthly meetings which take place on the third Monday of the month at Jubilee Hall.
