THE Whitchurch Band will be performing at its first public concert, since the Covid-19 pandemic, next month
The brass band will be performing at the upcoming spring concert, in the Civic Centre, on Sunday, April 10 at 2pm.
Since December the band have managed to secure support from Barlows Local, which enabled them to secure a new musical director, Stephen Gittins.
A spokesperson said: "Stephen is a very respected musician in the brass band world, having performed with many top section bands, and has also worked as musical director for bands across Shropshire.
"The Barlows Local sponsorship has enabled the band to continue supporting the Brownlow Community Centre.
"The band now utilise two of the centre’s rooms to enable additional coaching for the training band members.
"Aside from the financial help, Barlows have also provided a complete set of music folders and instrument cleaning cloths, all personalised with the band’s logo.
"The concert on April 10, will be the first opportunity for the band to show off to their new sponsor, and they are currently working very hard to complete the programme."
Tickets are £6 and £2 for under 16s and are available from Barlows in Whitchurch High Street, https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/ or you can call 01948 822242.
